Although appearing significantly (and curiously) later than the game, DC Unlimited have announced that they’ll be producing a new line of Bioware’s Mass Effect 2 action figures in 2010.
Along the lines of the World of Warcraft figures currently available by DC Unlimited, the ME2 line – expected to include Shepard, Grunt, Thane and Tali – is set to go on sale on 25 August 2010. It’s suspected that there may be more figures to follow in later months.
As always, more details as and when they follow. Could you be tempted to buy them?

Oh, that’s neat. I love me some Mass Effect! The WoW models allowed you to actually customize what you wanted the figure to look like, and I wonder if ME2 will give you that same option when it comes to release time.
I’ve never actually bought an action figure, though I do have a few that people have bought me.
I quite enjoyed Mass Effect, though I did find it a tad repetitive but I am really excited for Mass Effect 2, and after playing it at Eurogamer I can see that they have took some time to improve the gameplay over the original.
I’d definately need to play the full game and make a solid decision about it before I could even think of buying a figure though, because if I end up not liking it, I definately don’t want an action figure staring at me from a game I don’t like. :P
I buy way too many game related action figures… I have the God of Rock, Marcus Phoenix, Locust Grunt and Dom from Gears of war, Alex Mercer from Prototype, various Tomb Raider figures, Agent 47 from Hitman and Scarface from The World is Yours. I’m such a child!
If you’re a child, I don’t know what I am. I not only have my much loved Chris Redfield (as part of the RE5 collectors’ edition) but also a very expensive Pyramid Head statue and a custom-made Maria from Silent Hill 2.
I clearly have more money than sense . . .
