After a brief break for the holidays, today the Rock Band store is set to be updated with ten new songs. Great news for those that prefer to give the metal a miss and settle back with some good ‘ole country music.
From today there’ll be a new seven-pack of country tracks up for grabs, including contributions by Kenny Rogers and Shania Twain. An awesome three-pack of Paul McCartney tracks – live performances of Jet, Band on the Run and Sing the Changes taken from his concert in New Year City last summer – is set to follow early in the new year. Yes, I like Paul McCartney. Yes, I’ve seen him in concert. No, I am not embarrassed about that. Yes, I’m the only person I know who didn’t think that the Beatles: Rockband WASN’T a complete rip-off . . .

Me saying how thrilled I am about playing The Gambler is THE understatement of the decade. I’m unfortunately that drunk girl who starts to sing-talk it while playing any form of card game.
Yup, agreed. The variety is amazing. Same has to be said for SingStar though; there’s not a style you can’t play, to be honest. For instance, I downloaded about £10 ($15) worth of tracks this weekend, including Stereophonics, Stevie Wonder, Scissors Sisters … what a combination, eh?!
Coolios, I really like the wide variaty of songs you get on these games, I played Guitar Hero for the first time at Christmas on my brothers PS3 (I had been avoiding it since I play the real guitar), and I was pleasantly surprised.
So when I went home I bought GH3, World Tour and Metallica, and also the two Lips games for my girlfriend….. and so it begins, my descent into wasted, yet fun, time.
Welcome to the rest of your life, Martee. You’re about to wonder why the HELL you didn’t buy these games before!
I also love the Lips games; have Number Ones on order since Santa didn’t bring it!
