As an avid PC gamer, I often bemoan my graphics card situation. I’m one of those people that has to turn down every single setting in a platform game because otherwise I get 2FPS (frames per second) and objects won’t render properly. This was evident when I played Spore, and the whole point of the game is to create a crazy looking beast, but mine wouldn’t render properly and had a lovely green hue like the body suit that Charlie from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia sports every so often.
According to an article by CVG, your graphics card is more than just something to sharpen images and improve performance. It can also track hurricanes, and find cancer! Still no evidence whether graphics cards can find most gamers a girlfriend, but at least it can render Lara Croft’s assets in real time.
And since I’m such a good person, I’m going to remind everyone now to update their graphics card driver. You can do so at NVIDIA.com or ATI. If you’re like me (forgetful, awesome, heroic, etc), then you’ll often find yourself behind on driver updates.

And there was me thinking that graphic cards just made games look pretty. How wrong was I!
I know, right? I found out today that my graphics card can do my taxes for me. And I think I can teach it to make my bed in a proper sailor fashion.
Even if my new graphics card could do more for me than make things look pretty…… when they look THIS pretty I couldn’t care less
