Halo Legends: February 2010 Release

7 Jan, 2010

Delving into the history of the Halo universe, the eight-episode series Halo Legends visits the 26th Century and explores the battle to save humanity and earth from alien hostility.

Episodes are a little short at seventeen minutes at most, but the series promises to provide ‘dramatic, action-packed stories featur[ing] characters and locales familiar to Halo fans’.

Created in the same format as Batman Gotham Knight and The Animatrix and produced in partnership with Halo franchise development director Frank O’Connor and Managing Editor Kevin Grace , the series is ‘imagined’ by Japanese anime directors/animators, including Shinji Aramaki, Mamoru Oshii, Hideki Futamura, Tomoki Kyoda and Yasushi Muraki.

“Halo Legends offers fans stunning, new creative visions of the popular video game’s expansive universe, providing added depth and perspective to these beloved characters and thrilling environments,” said Halo franchise development director Frank O’Connor. “Halo Legends is a perfect complement to the game’s growing canon of ancillary entertainment options.”

Available from 9 February 2010, the series is available on DVD for $19.98, special two-disc edition DVD (which includes a Making Of documentary and commentary) for $29.98, and Blu-Ray for $34.99.

All I can say… without meaning to offend anyone, is, who cares? :P
I personally think Halo is the most overrated garbage ever. My friend gave me his copy of Halo 3 for free and I still can’t bring myself to play it for more than 10 minutes because it’s so boring…. AND IT WAS FREE! :P

    • Heh. Well, whilst we carefully select what news/info we post here (we sort through the crap so you don’t have to!), we’re not elitist or sexist with our reporting choices. So whilst I see your view (I too own Halo 3 and have only played about 30 mins of it – as a rule I don’t like FPSs), someone else may be interested in this!

I can’t stand Halo, either – it’s one of the most overrated games of all time – but I think it’s pretty cool that they’re trying to expand on the series story-wise.

Unless it ends up being nothing but a series of action sequences. Of course, I’m sure millions would eat it up anyway.
