Collect ‘em All!

Collect ‘em All!

4 Feb, 2010

I think it’s great that lately most new game releases have some form of Mega Super Ultimate Collectors Edition, I just wish I had the money to be able to get them all! Let’s see what we’ve got up for grabs lately shall we.

Dante’s Inferno, yes I know I wasn’t impressed in the slightest by the demo, but for the love of amazing cases I’m so so so tempted to buy the Special Edition. The Dante’s Inferno: Exclusive Death Edition provides us with the following for just £10 more than the standard;
• Exclusive packaging featuring Dante Ink Portrait and 9 Circles of Hell artwork.
• Exclusive in-game playable character costume – Isaac’s Dead Space suit for Dante. (OH MY GOD!)
• Making of the game Documentary.
• Dante in History Documentary.
• Full game Soundtrack.
• Scoring the Inferno Documentary.
• Wayne Barlowe Digital Artbook.
• Scene from Dante’s Inferno: An Animated Epic.
• Digital Reprint of the full poem.

Yum! I want it now...

See what I mean? It’s so tempting for me to just get it for this Special Edition!

Bioshock 2… I may get a bit over excited during this paragraph so I apologise in advance. This is the mother of all Special Editions and if I can get my hands on it come release day, I shall be a Happy Chappy! *Excited Shriek*

Bioshock 2 Collectors Edition, £69.99
• Exclusive game box with Butterfly Design.
• 12 Inch Vinyl LP with the Orchestral Score.
• Audio CD with the Orchestral Score.
• 3 Vintage Rapture Advertisement Posters. (Rolled)
• Art Book, 164 Pages and Hard Cover.

Did I mention wanting stuff?

I may have to shriek again in a moment… However my questions are to you lovely people and the questions are as follows.
Do you splash out for the Special Editions of games you like, or do you buy the Standard Version?

If you answered yes, what was the last Special Edition you bought?

  1. I’m not proud of it, but I’m a complete sucker for special editions. :/ Recent purchases include RE5 and Batman AA Collectors’ Editions . . . and I’ve also pre-ordered the Heavy Rain Special Edition, too.

I clearly have more money than sense . . .

Dont worry V, as long as you enjoy the lovely boxes it’s all good. ^_^

I’ve never really been able to get excited about special editions, probably because I’ve never had the funds to allow it. If I can play the game, I’m happy.

I may have to make an exception for Final Fantasy XIII though. And possibly God of War 3. :)

The Isaac skin for Dante.. just OMG… that would look so funny!

I want Bioshock 2 Special Edition soooo badly! But I think they are out of stock now. D: I can’t find them available anywhere!

The only collector’s edition I bought was for Final Fantasy XII, and I was quite underwhelmed.

The only collector’s edition I’d really ever want to purchase (in fantasy land, of course) is a collector’s edition of Shenmue III, especially if it came with PS3-updated versions of Shenmue and Shenmue II (with the original Japanese voices with English subtitles).

That’s only possible in the Ideal World, though.
