Fallout: New Vegas Trailer Released; War Never Changes

5 Feb, 2010

Fallout: New Vegas is a role-playing video game in the Fallout series, in development by Obsidian Entertainment and currently scheduled for release in Autumn 2010.

According to Pete Hines, Vice President of PR & Marketing for Bethesda Softworks, the game is “not a sequel to Fallout 3, it’s just another game in the universe.” According to Hines, “It will be the same sort of role-playing game experience seen in Fallout 3″. The first teaser trailer for the game was revealed on February 4 and features the voice of Ron Perlman and the musical voice of Frank Sinatra.

It’s funny how sequels set in landmarks and actual cities (Fallout 3 was set in Washington D.C) all eventually go to Vegas. Another game of note that was successful and one of the first games released on the Xbox 360 was Dead Rising. Whereas Fallout may take liberties on using actual locations, it seems that the sequel to Dead Rising will be going the way of Grand Theft Auto and creating their own fictional doppleganger

The game is set a few years after the events of the original Dead Rising. The zombie parasite that originated in Santa Cabeza has spread all over the United States. The game will take place in the fictional city of Fortune City, which is modelled after the real-life city of Las Vegas, Nevada
