“Konami have revealed that Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker will be released on June 18th for PSP and PSPgo.
Hideo Kojima said previously that he crafted MGS: Peace Walker as the next true chapter in the story of legendary special ops expert, Snake (AKA Big Boss), and that it acts as a direct sequel to the previously released Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Peace Walker is set in 1974 towards the end of the cold war and boasts an all-new story penned by Hideo Kojima.
“The Metal Gear Solid series is heading into exciting new areas, and Peace Walker unites the series’ key gameplay elements with even more tactical possibilities,” enthused Hideo Kojima, Head of Kojima Productions and creator of the Metal Gear Solid series. “We look forward to recruiting PSP users to Snake’s latest mission, as the Metal Gear Solid series returns in a guise that will constantly surprise the player.”
Of course talk is all very well, however it’s what it looks and plays like on the PSP itself that actually counts and this is one good looking game. As for what it plays like? Well we aren’t sure yet but if other games in the series are anything to go by, then there shouldn’t be too much to worry about.”
This may be the excuse I’ve been looking for to justify buying myself a PSP. ;)

Blah. And me without a PSP. I used to have one but I strongly suspect my roommate took it when he moved out.
There’s no way I’m missing out on this game (well, unless it totally blows, of which there is less than a 1% chance – haha, I’m such a fanboy). I haven’t been playing my PSP lately, but I’ll probably fire it up again for Peace Walker (strange, since I have a backlog of games for it…but that’s another story).
Just in time, too. I got a $10 promotional credit from Amazon that I have to use by June 30th, and so…
