For those of you who love the paranormal and have always wanted a good spooky game for the DSi, today’s your lucky day. Swedish based developer, A Different Game has long been developing Ghostwire, and it’s appearance on the market is now imminent. Release had been previously pending due to the lack of a publisher. However, in late October of last year, publishing company Majesco announced it’s plans to publish the game under the title of Ghostwire: Link to the Paranormal.
Your goal is to track down each ghost, speak to them to know what’s troubling them, and then either capture them or attempt to ease their pain. This game utilizes the DSi’s built in cameras and mic to turn your house and real life surroundings, into a hunting ground for the paranormal. Combining real world and computer generate data. Inspired by reality TV shows like Ghost Hunters, this game mimics real techniques and equipment that paranormal investigators use. Ghostwire recognizes symbols and writing in your surroundings such as pentagrams. The game is equipped with an in-game Ghostpedia, providing you with hints, tips, and information to hunt down each ghost.
Whether your a real life believer, or just looking for a good hand held scare, this game is definitely one for you to check out. It’s current planned release date is October of 2010.
Oh wow. Kind of my worst nightmare — to actually see a ghost through a camera in a spot that’s right beside my bed. I’m mad intrigued, though.
