With the success of it’s predecessors, Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII it’s not really surprising that we could be seeing Final Fantasy IX heading to the PSOne Classics section of the Playstation Store in the near future.
From Joystiq: ‘Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto Tweeted (translation by Andriasang) that “Regarding an FF9 download release, everyone is so passionate about it that I’ll be proposing it at the next board meeting. Look forward to next week!”‘
I already have a PSOne copy but I may have to download this as a back up. ;)
It was only a matter of time, really.
I, too, have a PSOne copy, but playing FF IX on a handheld is a mighty cool idea. Square-Enix should definitely go for it.
And maybe, just maybe, with a bit of extra cash, they can make a sequel to FF IX…
This would make me so very happy
I LOVE this game so much but I only got to play it by borrowing it from friends. It’s the game that got me back into video games, it was my first Final Fantasy and the first game I ever finished all the way to the end on my own ;_;
