If there’s any game (or games) I’d love to see with enhanced graphics on the PS3, these are the two. No, not a remake but an enhanced port from the PS2 would be awesome – similar to the treatment that the God of War games got with the God of War Collection.
In a recent interview with Kotaku, developer Fumito Ueda talked about his hope that this would happen.
“I do have an interest in that [PS3 port],” Ueda said. “Next week, I’ll have a meeting [about the possibility] … But it might not be so easy, because, with both titles we really stretched the limits of the PS2. It’s complex. So it’s not such an easy transfer to the PS3. But I want to discuss it.”
What do you think? Would you buy an “enhanced” version of the game or are you happy for it to stay with it’s original console?
I have a PS3 but I don’t own a nice TV to notice any stunning visual effects. I have a regular boxy TV from, like, 1996 haha. So until I find the day to upgrade to HD, I wouldn’t really buy an enhanced version.
Oh my gosh. I love these games! I would totally buy a port with enhanced graphics for both of them. :D Unfortunately, like Sarah G., my TV is probably from the Stone Age. It’s what the people at Stonehenge used to watch their favorite programs, I’m sure of it. But I’m also lacking a PS3 so….I would still buy the games! I just wouldn’t ever play them ’till I hit the lotto (less likely than my Stonehenge theory.) ;P
And btw, I always called that Colossus in your screencap “Grover” ’cause he reminded me of the blue muppet from Sesame Street.
I never got to play Ico of SotC, now I know about them you can only find used copies for exorbitant prices. I would KILL for a port to the PS3 just to be able t play it and I know there must be so many people in the same boat as me. The rumours that they’ll be ported and released along side The Last Guardian… I would kill for those to be true ;___;
I would definitely consider purchasing this. I don’t have a fancy TV, but ICO is super hard to find for a decent price (I think). Both games are amongst my favorite games of all time, and I think it would be a most worthy purchase.
I’d pre-order it the minute is became possible to do so! Oh, man…I so hope and pray this happens and soon!!
I’ve been wanting to play SotC since the day I sold my PS2 and even with all the amazing PS3 titles that have come out it remains my number one favorite game. The moment I hear I can preorder this, I will literally run to the nearest gamestop and do it.
