We might not have covered it much here, but the industry is buzzing about the on-going ruckus over at Infinity Ward.
As you may know, Jason West and Vince Zampella – the men credited with creating the best-selling game of all time – have found themselves in a legal battle with Activision … and a very messy one at that. Consequently, people are leaving IW – some voluntarily, some allegedly pushed – like the proverbial flies. And whilst it’s tempting to wonder if this has simply been blown out of proportion, check out PCGamer UK’s video (above). An ‘updated’ credit list for Modern Warfare 2, it starkly indicates the reality of what’s happened to date.
At this stage we’re still not sure who’s gone where, and how many – if any – have jumped to join West and Zampella at their new company Respawn Entertainment. But I’ll tell you what I do know: this isn’t over yet …

It’s sad that Activision controls the rights to the Call of Duty franchise even though they played no part at all in making it the blockbuster hit it is today. All they’ve done is milk it for money ,as can be seen by the raised price for the game and its first DLC map pack (which was effectively $5 a map, as 2 of the maps on it were copy-pasted from CoD4).
