Argos will take your old games and sell them back to you

24 Jul, 2010

Argos have today released a new service for you to trade in your old games for PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS.

There are of course some caveats. You can take as many games as you like but only one copy of each game, more importantly they don’t give you cash its Argos vouchers.

There are some quirks in their pricing for example:

PS3 Batman: Arkham Asylum £6.00
PS3 Battlefield Bad Company 2 £12.00

They have provided a price list which will be updated through their main website.

So what are Argos doing with these second hand games ? Why they are selling them right back at you! Through their website you can now purchase pre-owned games.

Argos are checking the discs run however they are not claiming to check thoroughly the contents. From their FAQ:

All pre-owned video games will be supplied in their original boxes, however the disc, case or instruction manual will not be pristine. We also can’t guarantee an instruction manual will be supplied with every game.

And if you are wondering about those DS save games:

You can buy pre-owned cartridge based video games such as Nintendo DS. However whilst we check that it is in full working order, there may be game progress saved by the previous owner. This can easily be deleted.
