It has been reported by Bloomberg of Japan that the price and release date for the 3DS will be on the 29th of September. It is not clear whether this information will be specific to Japan or will include details for the consoles worldwide release. However, more details may be released at the end of year conferences held by Nintendo of Japan and America.
A UK spokesperson has said the console will fit the current DS pricing structure. The DSi currents retails at £129, the DSi XL at £159, so it seems likely the 3DS will market at around £180 – £210. Analysts have previously predicted a sale price of $250, which is around £160, and Europe normally has to pay more than the US so this prediction is somewhat accurate.
I am unlikely to pick the 3DS up on launch because I would want to wait and see what games are released on its first. However, it may now be a good idea to wait and see if the price drops. If anyone plans on getting the 3ds on, has the suggested pricing changed your mind at all, or do you still plan to get it on launch day? Is anyone else going to wait for a while after the console launches and then consider buying it?

I’m sort of annoyed at myself now; I purchased a DS Lite last spring! If I had known about the 3DS then, I would have definitely waited to buy one instead.
I know what you mean Alex. I was pondering the idea of (another) DS recently but after seeing the 3DS launch line-up I’ll definitely be hanging fire on that one. Resident Evil Revelations looks amazing.
