Call of Duty Map Packs Surpass 20 Million Units

Call of Duty is probably the number one most played fps in the world. So here comes the unsurprising but actually pretty impressive news that the Call of Duty map packs have a combined total of more than 20 million units downloaded. There’s no doubt that the Call of Duty games do deliver an online experience that is yet to be paralleled by many similar titles so people are bound to download the extra content. But 20 million is just mental. Just think, if I had a pound for every map pack downloaded I would be, like a millionaire or something.

Now I’m not a big fan of all this ‘let’s charge a bajillion dollars for 5 maps’ but shame on me because it looks like it might actually be working.

The most recent map pack for the franchise, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack, was released on June 3 for Xbox LIVE and on July 6 and 7 for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC.

Did you download the map packs? Do you think they were overpriced? Leave any map pack related comments in the boxes below! Cheers
