Don’t fancy getting up off the sofa for all that sweaty KinectWiiMove fun, how about eye control ?
The wacky people (and trust me, when you watch the video you will agree) of Waterloo Labs decided to operate a NES using eye muscles to control the on screen action. The major downside being you tend to be looking away when you jump into one of the classic Mario bouncy pits of death.
The goal of this project is to control a Nintendo Entertainment System using solely eye movement. This involves reading in eye position using a technique known as electrooculography (EOG) as well as interfacing with the NES standard protocols to simulate a game controller. To accomplish the variety required by these two tasks a National Instruments Singleboard RIO was chosen as the controller for this system. Source: National Instruments
Aside from the legitimate uses of this technology to improve the independence of the disabled, its all just a bit of a laugh.
