The PlayStation 3 may just have an ace up its sleeve in the ‘When-Is-A-Console-Not-A-Console?’ war.
According to TechRadar.com, Sony are in very early discussions with Channel 4 over bringing their free on-demand television service 4oD to PlayStation 3.
The news follows rumours that ITV are also in talks with Sony regarding their own service, ITV Player, fuelling suggestions of Sony’s intentions to market the PlayStation 3 not just as a games console but also a fully comprehensive media hub.
While the Xbox 360 has Sky Player capability, the PlayStation 3 already incorporates BBC’s iPlayer which allows PS3 users to watch a wide range of programs at the touch of a button.
