Heavy Rain: Move Edition forecast for run-up to Christmas

7 Aug, 2010

The updated version of Heavy Rain, incorporating PlayStation Move capability has been confirmed for a 2010 release. It’s understood that beyond the new motion-sensor controls, Heavy Rain: Move Edition won’t contain any new content. However, owners of the original version will be able to download a patch from the PlayStation Network to activate their Move device. Purchasers of the new edition that don’t own PlayStation Move can still opt to use the regular DUALSHOCK 3 controller.

Product manager Ross Alexander had this to say on the updated release:

“Heavy Rain has been given a PlayStation Move makeover with a brand new control scheme that gives players the ultimate freedom of control. With PlayStation Move you can really put yourself at the heart of the story more than ever before, and your every decision and every move will make a difference.”

Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain was released in February of this year as a PlayStation 3 exclusive and has become one of the biggest selling games of 2010. Following the release of downloadable episode The Taxidermist, further planned content for the title was canned in favour of developing the Move edition.
