The Sims 3 Console Release Dated
EA this week announced as part of their Gamescom 2010 conference, a concrete date for the much anticipated console version of PC hit, The Sims 3. The developers spokesman confirmed that the game would be available on all formats from October 26th, claiming that EA hoped that this would expand on the already booming franchise that has reportedly sold an excess of 120 million units. The console version of the hit sequel continues the tradition of creating your own unique characters and lifestyle, in what they boast as an all singing all dancing living neighbourhood.
The Playstation 3 and XBox 360 versions of the game offer players the opportunity to design and build their own vision of the Sims world, and share it with users around the world in addition to promised regular updates anddownloadable content.
The Sims 3 will be available on PS3, XBox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS, from October 26th. The game is available now on PC.

Even though I wasn’t that keen on The Sims 3, I might buy this for 360 anyway to see what its like. I always used to quite like the console Sims games, so it might work for me. Not really into The Sims these days as much I used to be though.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I played them briefly on the PC years ago, since a friend of mine was a big fan. I never really got into it, but I think I will give this a try when it comes out, preferably when I have some free time, since these games eat your life!
The main thing that bugs me about The Sims on consoles is the amount of effort to do anything compared to the PC. When they did The Sims for PS2 it was so long winded to do simple things, but hopefully this won’t be the case now. I’ll pay £20 for it in the January sales. xD
I think with the current generation of technology it will eliminate a lot of those problems. The Sims was overly complicated in it’s console incarnations, and the main thing I noticed that let it down was the controller. You just don’t have that sense of quick movement like you do with a mouse. Still, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting, I think this will certainly be interesting, especially when you incorporate PSN and Xbox Live into the equasion.
