Following a tragic procession of “leaks” and “partial leaks” of the “genuine” Rock Band 3 set-list, the guys representing Harmonix at this year’s Gamescom festival have addressed the issue by taking a few minutes out from their busy schedule to record this little video where they “accidentally” reveal the 83-track set-list in its entirety.
They even go as far as to name and shame a few of the sites responsible for the misleading information, which should help to prevent similar situations arising in the future. Here’s the Rock Band 3 track list in full!

Set to revolutionise the genre, Rock Band 3 will be the first game of its type to implement a keyboard instrument peripheral, while the new guitar controller will feature real strings and proper fret buttons for accurate finger placement, giving the feel of a proper guitar. The game’s Pro difficulty has been specifically designed to bridge the gap between playing rhythm games and picking up a real-life instrument.
Rock Band 3 is released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and DS in the US on October 26th and in Europe on the 29th.

Aw, I was really hoping some symphonic or goth metal wouild have made the track list this time, as bands like Nightwish and Within Temptation really utilize keyboards and I know fans have been asking for Nightwish in a Rockband gamr for ages. Really disapointing.
Marilyn Manson finally has some on-disc loving. I’m happy! xD
Blondie, Amy Winehouse, Janes Addiction, Stone Temple Pilots and a great Bowie track! And naturally, I will be a child jumping on their bed playing air guitar to that Joan Jett track! But those really are the only ones that jump off the list to me, overall it just looks like standard heavy metal filler. That Queens of the Stoneage track is alright, and there are some good bands on there, just not necessarily their best songs. Then again in fairness, I haven’t been impressed my an on-disc Rock Band set list since the first one.
I’m still waiting for the day we finally get some cracking Pink Floyd songs on a Rock Band/ Guitar Hero game!
Jennifer, you left the wonderful Ms Joan Jett off that list ;) (Edit: Oh, no you didn’t :P) These games are definitely all about the DLC. I liked a comparatively huge amount of the tracks on Guitar Hero 5 but apart from that I’ve always felt a little let down.
My main issue with this is there’s a lot of duplicate tracks from Guitar Hero and Band Hero games, and I’m sure that Divo (Edit: Devo… I’m on form today) track was on Rock Band 2! Still, when you pit this against the track listing for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock this comes way out on top for me.
Totally right about the first Rock Band… it’s a hard one to beat. This one will probably be great, but I think it’s just under the sequal curse where you can’t help but go back to number one.
We got to try out Rockband 3 yesterday. :) The GGS group played Huey Lewis’ ‘Power of Love’ while we were there (Steve got to try out the keys – not as easy as they look, we’re told). Have to say – I’m loving the variety of the set. I always say I’ll resist, but I don’t think that I will!
Jealous!! I have to say I’m really REALLY excited about this. As a budding guitarist myself this is shaping up to be the jump-start I need to really get learning properly. The new controller sounds amazing. Amazingly expensive but amazing nonetheless.
This the main appeal to me, this new Pro Guitar. I think it’s a stroke of genius to incorporate actual learning of an instrument into the game. It’s going to broaden the appeal and boost sales by leaps and bounds. I think I may finally have something to ask for for Christmas!
There is a lot of reptition on these games, but like Andy said, the real gems are to be found in DLC. I only hope Garbage get a few more tracks onto the store. I played ‘Why do you love me’ until I could do it backwards and stood on my head.
I am so jealous Vikki! I really wish I could have come. Damn finances. If we’re on for next year, I will definitely be there!
