Capcom Executive Keiji Inafune, has teased fans of the Survival Horror turned Action-Adventure series Resident Evil in a recent interview, by claiming the developers want to have the next chapter of the franchise released as soon as possible. The creative brain behind other titles such as Mega Man, spoke with Spanish website 3D Jeugos where he told reporters that Capcom were eager to announce the new title and have it out on the market as soon as possible. Capcom are apparently keen to get Western developers on board with the project, in order to avoid further allegations of racism in it’s games, following the bashlash receieved from Resident Evil 5, according to CVG.
“Given the great success that supposed for us Resident Evil 5, we want that Resident Evil 6 leaves as rapidly as possible to the market. In fact, you will shortly have the news of Capcom about this…”
The news comes shortly after Capcom published a report claiming that they were aiming to increasing their publishing output for their bigger franchises, after a shocking decline in their annual profit was calculated earlier in the year. This announcement was met with a mixture of excitement and uncertainty, after many voiced concern that a great frequency of titles would reduce the overall quality of productions and oversaturate many much loved series’.
