L.A Noire delayed until 2011

3 Sep, 2010

Rockstar’s much anticipated crime thriller L.A Noire has been officially delayed until at least January 2011, according a report by CVG. The game which stunned reporters at E3 this year, by showcasing it’s spectacular character models and cutscenes, apparently needs more work before Rockstar’s development team are to be entirely satisfied with their product. Comments surrounding the game at E3 compared it to PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain with a bit of Grand Theft Auto thrown in to taste.

Rockstar’s parent company Take Two Interactive made the announcement at it’s Q3 investor earnings call yesterday, stating the developers were aiming for a January-June release bracket. CEO of Take Two, Ben Feder, offered his comments on the news:

“If a title needs more time, it needs more time – and we’re willing to give it. I will say about L.A. Noire that as I look around competitively at the marketplace, there is nothing else quite like it in terms of the gameplay and the technology behind it. We want to make sure we get it absolutely right.”

The game set in 1940s Los Angeles, and is set to tell a Post-war tale of booze, drugs and corruption that Rockstar promises will ‘truly blend cinematics and gaming’.
