Ahhhhh, how old do you feel right now? If it’s as old as I’m feeling then you’ll appreciate the news of Sony Computer Entertainment America’s massive US PSN promotion set to run over the next few months, to celebrate the 15th anniversary of that little grey box that redefined gaming forever, the PlayStation.
Even as we move into the comparatively futuristic realms of high-definition visuals, motion-control and gaming in 3D, classic PSone titles still rank amongst the best games ever made and hold a special place in the heart of even the fiercest Modern Warfare 2 player.
In a press release sent out yesterday, Sony confirmed that a variety of PSone Classics, playable on PlayStation 3 and PSP, will be discounted on a week-by-week basis, though it’s not yet known which particular titles will be given a price cut. PlayStation 3 users will also receive a free PlayStation console ornament to adorn their PlayStation Home with. As of yet, there has been no news of a similar celebration taking place in other territories.
