So, you have Halo Reach by now surely and you want to beef up that gamerscore but a lot of the achievements look really hard? Not a problem! Over the coming week(s) GGSGamer’s resident Halo-nut will be showing you the way to becoming a Spartan. Today I reveal how to unlock up to 14 achievements in just an hour.
Did that get your attention? Good! First things first, download this game type for Firefight. This turns on God mode basically: Unlimited ammo (no reload), invincibility and unlimited armour ability. Make sure you put it on Legendary difficulty and on the Corvette level and select the Noob load out as it has the Jetpack. You might be wondering, “Why do I need God mode? Can’t you show me how to be good enough to do it legit”? Do you think you can face this kind of pain…?
Achievements: Heat in the Pipe, Crowd Control, Game, Set Match, Blaze of Glory, I See You Favor a .45, A Spoonful of Blamite, Firestarter, An Elegant Weapon…, Lucky Me (Estimated Time: 57 minutes)
When the match starts, you have about 30 seconds before the first wave comes in, not that you’re in much of a rush as they can’t hurt you. What you want to do is quickly grab the Rocket Launcher which is the left weapon with a green box over it. This is the most valuable weapon you will need to have at all times as it is connected to a few achievements and also gives you the highest possibility of getting combo-kill score multipliers.
One you have it, the first wave which is typically Elites should start to drop into the map and frivolously fire at you. Don’t be scared, it can be distracting but I promise you’re safe. What you want to do is Jetpack as high as you like above the Elites and fire straight down if there are anywhere between three to ten enemies near each other.
Keep a rapid fire assault on them and eventually you should unlock Lucky Me, Crowd Control Firestarter, Blaze of Glory, Game, Set Match, Heat in the Pipe.
Eventually you might get bored of this barrage of hell fire and want to scoop a few more before you hit the magic 1,000,000 (million) point mark. You will want to find a DMR, Needler and a Magnum and kill ten enemies with each gun to unlock An Elegant Weapon…, A Spoonful of Blamite, I See You Favor a .45.
Finally whilst in this one match you need to try and perform a (very damn cool!) assassination on at least one of the enemies. To do this, simply get behind somebody and hold down your Melee button (RB default) and this should happen for That’s a Knife.
Once you have performed your hour long genocide on the Covenant, you might wish to share the bloodshed with some friends. Thankfully every game you play is stored on your HDD as a replay for you to watch and share with the world. However we don’t care for that just now, we want yummy gamerscore. On the menu screen press the Start button and go to File Browser. From here select Local Files and then Films & Clips. Once you find your video, press the X Button and select Upload to File Share to unlock A Storage Solution. What’s the point in uploading something if people don’t know it’s there right? Stay in the File Browser and move to File Share, press the X Button and click Recommend to Friends to unlock Cool File, Bro.
The last two achievements are simple enough. Every game you play you unlock credits, which is the currency in Halo Reach. To spend that sweet cred’, in the Start Menu select The Armoury and buy whatever you can afford to unlock Make it Drizzle. Finally for Doctor, Doctor simply heal yourself with a Health Pack in any game mod.
There you go! An hour later and you have an extra 235gp on your Gamercard. Who said things had to be difficult? If you are struggling with any specific achievements, let me know in the comments. This month I will be doing both written and video guides for some of the harder achievements Halo Reach has to offer as well as multiplayer and campaign tips and tricks to improve your game, if the demand is there.

Unfortunately, there is no aid for the few achievements I have left (specifically the single-player legendary run). I’ll just have to grit my teeth and get ready to die… A LOT.
Alex, you’re welcome to join me and Jen for a Legendary run any time. We got through the first level after an hour but the first section of mission two made us want to scratch our own eyes out.
The difficulty scales up depending on how many players you have in your game. It is actually easier to do Legendary solo than it is Co-op for the first time in the series.
Also, there is an achievement for doing it solo anyway. So you’re actually playing for 250gp.
Me and Jen thought that must be the case. We’ve both gotten further on Legendary solo than we could with the two of us playing in co-op. The number of Elites was ridiculous!
