A mere three days have passed since the hotly-anticipated worldwide launch of Bungie’s Halo: Reach, but according to Eurogamer, sales figures indicate that it has already become Microsoft Game Studios’ biggest-selling title ever, beating the likes of Epic Games’ Gears of War and Bungie’s own previous record-holder Halo 3.
The figures reveal that Reach has made Microsoft an insane $200 million in it’s first day of release, in the US and Europe alone. The head of Microsoft’s UK office Phil Spencer is unsurprisingly thrilled at the news.
“Halo: Reach is the biggest game Microsoft has ever released, and its launch has already surpassed every game, movie and entertainment launch this year. Every major instalment has grown in scope and popularity, firmly cementing the Halo franchise as one of the most popular entertainment properties in the world over the past decade.”
Halo: Reach is exclusive to Xbox 360 and is available in stores now.
