So very true! I think the Phoenix Wright games have had me stumped before, but I think Silent Hill 2 may have been the worst for me on that front!
Siren is hands down the worst offender for this sort of thing. Take a towel, wet it in the sink, put it in a freezer, then rest it between two kitchen countertops with a piggy bank on top and wait for it to melt, it’ll smash and cause the diversion you need.

Urgh, how the hell would you be able to figure that out by yourself?! I also remember I had problems with really crap puzzles in Secret Files: Tunguska, where the puzzles just made no ounce of sense at all!
