Playstation Move Exceeds Sony’s Expectations

15 Oct, 2010

Launched on the 15th September, the Playstation Move has sold 1.5 million units across Europe alone, far exceeding Sony’s sales forecast.

SCEE boss Andrew House:

[There have been] “very significant sales in the first month since launch – somewhere in the region of 1.5 million units for the new controller across just Europe.

The initial sales response has been so far in excess of our initial plan that we’ll probably be looking at accelerating production.”

Rival, Microsoft’s motion controller, Kinect, will go on sale on November 10th and is expected to sell 3 million units worldwide by Christmas.
