‘No trade-in for Steam’, says Valve
Wedbush Morgan analyst Micheal Patcher pricked up some ears this week, with the announcement that Steam was soon to be offering a form of trade-in service for users to off-load some of their unwanted titles. However Valve’s marketing chief Doug Lombardi has come forward to counter the claim, stating that there are no plans to introduce such a system in the foreseable future.
“Untrue. We’ve never had a meeting with Mr Pachter,” said Lombardi. “I’m not sure what else there is to say.”
In January 2010 Valve announced that they had reached approximately 25 million active accounts on their service, with around 10 million of those having profiles within the Steam Community.
