Did you hear that? That was the sound of pure win coming to your screen just now.
Capcom are already taking on Marvel and Tekken, but they’re not done! Earlier today Level 5 announced they would be working on Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright in an epic crime puzzle mystery for great mind bending justice, for the Nintendo 3DS. An anime trailer was recorded at the conference and uploaded to YouTube to stun the whole internet with it’s awesomeness.
Hershel Layton and Phoenix Wright will find themselves in the medieval Labyrinth City , a place where magic exists and witches lurk in the shadows. We don’t know how their roles will play out, but I’d guess Layton will solve puzzles to dig out and make sense of evidence while Wright will handle verbal dissection duties at the inevitable trial or trials that make use of it. Of course there’s the possibility that this could turn out to be a literal vs. game, culminating in a fearsome logic face-off, but how often do vs. stories in any medium end up with an outright winner? And trials need a winner.
Who do you side with? The spiky haired attorney, or the top hat gentleman?

OBJECTION! I’ve never played either, but have heard tales of Phoenix Wright’s awesomeness. (:
I love Phoenix Wright so much, I may actually have to buy a 3DS to actually play this. So much win xD
I love both franchises and both characters. My mind will explode when this releases.
THE WIN IS UNMEASURABLE!
I’ve always wanted to play a Phoenix Wright game but never gotten round to it. I bought an import copy of the third game a while back, without realising it was an import, and it took so long to arrive that I’d sold my DS and forgotten I’d ever made the purchase when it eventually dropped through the letterbox.
You’re missing out! If you still would like to try a Phoenix Wright title, I think all 3 titles from the main series are available as Wiiware, and I believe it is also on Ipod touch/Iphone.
I love both! I’d love to play this game, but I’ll probably wait for the price of the Nintendo 3DS to go down a little before I purchase it. That, and wait until more games I’d like come out for it (which I’m sure won’t take long). For now, I’m doing just fine with my old Lite. :)
