I can still recall the day my dad went out to buy our very first PC that came with a CD-rom instead of a floppy disc (wow, I feel old.) He told me I could pick out any game I wanted to, and so I went to browse the shelves. As I looked, my eyes came to rest on a double pack – The 7th Guest and its sequel, the 11th Hour. I knew nothing about either of them but it screamed “this game is scary as shit” – so naturally I had to have it. And it was. Scary as shit. But it was also an amazing puzzle game with a great story.
So, for those who shared the same love of the game (oh heck, I even later got myself a copy of the book! Yea, someone wrote a bloody book based on the game) – I bring you good news!
The 7th Guest is making its way to the iTunes store for either your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.
If the sales are good enough, Trilobyte (the team behind the game), have said that they will “use the 7G revenue to fund 11H developmentā which means the better the 7th Guest does in sales, the better chance we’ll see its sequel pop up in the store as well.
You can expect to see the 7th Guest available for download & purchase in the iTunes Store this December.
If you never played (or for shame, heard of!) the game – I highly suggest checking out the original trailer for the PC version. Sure, it’s rather corny by today’s standards… but c’mon, THIS GAME WAS AWESOME.
