The sequel to Remedy’s psychological thriller Alan Wake could well be incorporating Kinect capabilities into it’s gameplay, according to an article by Eurogamer today. Speculation has be rife since a post appeared Remedy’s website, advertising for a programmer to join their team on an impending project, making a point to specify that any potential employee’s be experienced in ‘Motion technology’ such an the Kinect:
“We are looking for a skilled programmer with a passion for game programming to join our team. You will be working on the next iteration of Remedy’s unique game engine that was previously used in Alan Wake.”
Though there has been no official announcement that the said placement was in regards to Alan Wake 2, Remedy have been keen to get the ball rolling on the sequel since the the first game opened to a possitive reception in May this year. The company released a statement shortly after release, saying that while the game had not sold as much as might have been expected, they were overall very pleased with the following the title had picked up.
Remedy spoke earlier this year with Eurogamer, expressing their desire to get started with a sequel to Alan Wake, “We definitely want to do it. We have great ideas for it. There’s certainly a want, and that want is I believe from both sides.”
Alan Wake is available now exclusively on Xbox 360.
