It’s been some time since a video game has really scared me. Sure, I jump and shriek and scream if an infected catches me by surprise in L4D (and I’m a bit of a baby when it comes to the spiders in RE5 and Limbo), but as for that aching, bone-shaking fear? It’s been awhile. Believe me.
Grasshopper Manufacture’s looking to change all that with Codename D. We still don’t know much – the developers are being painfully tight-lipped about the project – but Suda did share this: “It’s a no gun, no sword action game. It’s a game that will let you experience the invigorating feel that can be had because of Kinect.”
Um, yeah. Sounds a bit like Silent Hill Shatttered Memories to me, too.
Despite the potentially-no-weapons-running-for-your-life-ness of SHSM, I’m still perturbed. Why? Because of these RIDICULOUSLY BIZARRE screencaps courtesy of Famitsu.com. Coupled with the fact that the game is rumoured to be set in an amusement park (ugh – clowns!) and the assumption that this is the title Akira Yamaoka is lending his signature sound to, do you think they might be on the right track for that bone-shaking fear?
If you think you know what’s happening in these caps FOR THE LOVE OF GOD please tell me.

The spider in Limbo is NOT to be sniffed at! xD
