Well, that’s all folks. The PlayStation 2 is truly immortal.
Ten years after its release, hardware and software continue to sell, popular series are being updated for Blu-ray in HD and now another nail in the coffin for the return of the Iberian lynx of the gaming industry – the backwards compatible PlayStation 3 – the Sony Bravia KDL-22PX300.
Not only does it contain the aforementioned integrated PlayStation 2 (which comes with one controller), it also packs four HDMI ports, component, twin optical digital output, USB, Ethernet and just about every connection you could possibly think of into a 22-inch 720p HDTV.
Not to mention of course, the PlayStation 2 doubles as a DVD player and the Ethernet connection allows the TV to access Sony’s Bravia Internet Video services. Oh, and you can watch TV too! With built-in Freeview if you please! The really good news? You can get all that for around £200, an incredible bargain! The bad news? If online retail sites are to be believed, not many shops – not even my local Sony Centre – seem to be stocking it. Bugger.
The Sony Bravia KDL-22PX300 HDTV is available now.

That’s pretty cool, if I do say so myself.
I thought so too! I’ve only just replaced my dinosaur with its slimmer, silver-er, more attractive sibling but if I hadn’t I’d definitely get one of these!
