Developers Oddworld Inhabitants have announced that they will be releasing the full collection of their classic Oddworld series on Steam according to a report by Eurogamer. The collection charmingly entitled ‘The Oddbox’ will feature the original PSOne ‘Abe’s Oddysee’, Abe’s Exoddus, Munch’s Odyssey and ‘Stranger’s Wrath’, and is expected for released ‘before the end of 2010′.
The developers have teased that for the new editions there will be a makeover and some new features to mark the occasion, with the finer details expected to be listed closer to launch. The Oddbox marks the first time that the later two sequels will be available on PC after a long career on Playstation and Xbox. Those who remember the gorgeous looking and genuinely challenging quirky adventures of Abe and friends will certainly find something to love with this release, and here’s hoping we could be seeing the revamped rendition of the series soon on consoles. Abe’s Oddysee and Exodus are currently available for download on the PSN store, with the first available free to those who subscribe to Playstation Plus.
British developers ‘Just Add Water’ are said to be currently working on a new sequel to the franchise, after the first mention of the dubious sequel since 2008. Steam users and fans keep your ears to the ground!

Oooh, I’m looking forward to this one, if only to have a bash at the original Abe’s Oddysee again!
I bloody love Abe. I hope they bring them out on the XBLA – can you imagine how tough those achievements would be? Rescue every Mudukon? Err, yeah sure :P
