My first thought upon hearing that the Bible based browser game, The Bible Online, has found a new name was naturally ‘what the fuck’? But we kid you not, The Bible Online is a real game and its new name will be revealed on December 9th following a competition held on their forums.
As you would expect, The Bible Online is a MMO browser game based on the Bible – well, the Old Testament part anyway, making the game more fire and brimstone than peace and love. As the leader of your tribe, you have to construct villages, manage resources and budgets to protect your people and conquer new lands.
Out of curiosity (honest) I tried the game myself for an hour or so and although it’s obviously not a patch on the likes of Civ 5, it’s a surprisingly decent little game with a good structure and charming look. The vast majority of people I spoke to were not religious nuts, they simply enjoyed the game.
