Dead Space 2 demo due Christmas

8 Dec, 2010

The good people of EA have decided to have mercy on the desperate fans of their horror series this Christmas by treating us to a playable demo their forthcoming title Dead Space 2! Eurogamer have reported that the demo is due for download on December 21st for Xbox Live, and December 22nd for the European PSN store, acting as a chilling appetiser for the full game in the new year.

Set aboard the giant space facility ‘Sprawl’ in the ominous sounding ‘Church of Unitology’, we again assume the role of long suffering engineer Issac where he is engaged in a bloody conflict with Necromorph’s, described as a ‘gruesome, unforgivable battle’.

Whilst inside the ‘Church of Unitology’ a believed safe haven, you are naturally avalanced on by hoards of your Necromorph chums, giving you the perfect opportunity to try out Issac’s new bag of tricks. Among these are the new Javelin gun, updated stasis recharge mechanic and enhanced telekinesis ability which are bound to make for hours of squishy crimson coloured fun. An advanced version of Issac’s suit allow for full 360 control when the player is in a Zero Gravity environment by the addition of propelling jets.

Executive Producer Steve Papoutsis was excited to unveil the release date for the demo, saying that they wanted to give their fans a little stocking filler of their own for the festive season.

“The holidays are a great time to enjoy all forms of entertainment, and we can’t wait to give horror and action adventure gamers a taste of what awaits them in Dead Space 2,”

“Releasing the demo five weeks before launch will not only re-connect players with our hero Isaac Clarke, but will also give them the opportunity to experience firsthand various jaw-dropping scenarios. It’s gonna be awesome.”
