New Resident Evil 3DS info and screens revealed
It’s not often screenshots of upcoming games make me squeal like a starving piglet. But it’s also not often said screenshots pertain to the double dose of undead delight heading for the Nintendo 3DS next year, Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D.
We reported on The Mercenaries 3D back in September but super-exciting new screenshots have just been unveiled, not only showing just how gorgeous these games are going to look but also confirming the long-awaited return of some of the series’ best-loved characters.
Resident Evil Revelations sees Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine investigating a brand new biohazard threat aboard a luxury cruise ship. Revelations is set to move away from the action focus of Resident Evil 5, back to the classic tension and scares of older titles. It will also introduce the ability to run and shoot simultaneously, a first for the series.

Revelations stars series veterans Chris and Jill aboard a zombie-infested ship.
Fresh-faced from her 2008 rail-shooter revival in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, Claire Redfield makes her triumphant return in The Mercenaries 3D after a lengthy hiatus, making her last original appearance way back in 2000 as the leading lady of Dreamcast classic Resident Evil CODE: Veronica. Also seen in the shots are Claire’s brother Chris, fan-favourite bonus character HUNK and Resident Evil 4 villain Jack Krauser. Jill Valentine has also been confirmed.

Exciting stuff! Of course, this is bound to be only a fraction of the final line-up and there are many more fantastic characters we’d all love to see, but for now the appearance of Claire is definitely something to celebrate – more news as we get it!
Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D are currently tipped for release in 2011, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.

Awesome, awesome stuff! Very excited to see Claire back in The Mercenaries 3D as well, even though it’s Revelations which has me really going. Shame it’s on the 3DS though.
I don’t care how broke this leaves me, I’m getting a 3DS on launch. From what we can tell at work it’s only going to retail at about £200, not as much as I thought.
I would go for it, the thing is I would have to ensure that I can actually play the thing first as 3D seems to leave me feeling sick.
That’s my worry too, but the 3D can be switched off, and it’s Resident Evil. ‘Nuff said ;)
