3 million people live in Wales in the UK. Fact.
As at 26 December 2010, New Super Mario Bros. has sold a staggering 6,015,255 copies – which is the equivalent of TWO copies to every man, woman and child living in aforementioned Wales.
That’s kind of crazy when you think about it.
Whilst a handful of titles boast 5m sales, New SMB is the only DS title to have hit 6 million sales in Japan. It’s taken a smidge over four and a half years to do it (four years and seven months since it’s launch of 25 May 2006, to be precise) but that does work out to be about 109,091 copies a month – or 3636 copies every single day, if you want to get all stupid about it.
And with another record-breaking four million sales of NSMB on the Wii, too, there’s just no stopping that fat little mustachioed plumber.
