“Fighting as a civilian with civilians in an occupied America – that’s the core of what Homefront is all about.”
THQ and KAOS Studios – a division of THQ – have unveiled a new dev diary for their upcoming shooter, Homefront.
The latest video explores more of the game’s gritty and intriguing narrative around ex-pilot Robert Jacobs, whilst introducing us to some of the supporting characters and the challenges of a cast that aren’t professional soldiers but are, in fact, civilians fighters resisting an occupied territory. By taking and then twisting familiar environments like tourist spots and stores, the team aim to unsettle the player and step away from the traditional FPS experience whilst also exploring the gritty realities of war and violence and attaching “emotion to massacre fatigue.”
There’s only a few more weeks to go – Homefront is looking at a March 2011 release. And I can’t bloody wait!

Even though I am not really a massive FPS fan, I am actually rather looking forward to this. Will have to see what reviews say the difficulty is like, as I haven’t played a straight FPS in ages!
