Gamespot have revealed several rather spiffy gameplay videos of Double Fine’s Stacking in action.
If 2010 is now nothing but a murky haze to you – or if, like me, your stomach is so engorged by Christmas excess that you can’t remember how to get off the couch, let alone recall memories as far back as – gasp – November – let me help you out. Touted as an action/puzzler, Stacking is about chimney sweep Charlie Blackmore, the world’s smallest Russian stacking doll, and his quest to reunite his family after they’ve been “forced into indentured servitude by an evil industrialist”. By nesting within other bigger, more influential characters, Charlie is able to utilise their unique skills and his abilities to help find his wayward family members.
I know. Bizarre, right?
Personally, I think it looks gorgeous – a unique style and substance all of it’s own, coupled with a healthy dose of DF’s trademark humour. But what do you think?
Stacking is expected to launch on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network sometime in Q2 2011.
