Written, scored and shot as though for the silver screen, Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain has always purported to be considerably more than “just” a video game. Well, now here’s it’s chance to prove it – David Milch, creator of Deadwood and NYPD Blue, is set to bring it to the movie-going masses.
Variety is claiming that Milch is joining up up with New Line Cinema’s Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne to make the movie adaptation.
“David Milch’s incredible ability to transform intense and complex storylines into gripping, popular drama makes him the perfect partner for us to have on Heavy Rain,” said Shaye.
The gaming community has been split on the relative merits and weaknesses of the hugely successful game. Question is, would you pay to see it in the cinema?
