PS3 DNS Hack resolved by Sony

PS3 DNS Hack resolved by Sony

9 Feb, 2011

Sony have finally got their act together and resolved another one of the hacks that have plagued the PS3 console in recent weeks.

The DNS or Proxy Hack has now been eliminated through sony blocking access to the PSN store using this method. A few hours ago the main IP address being used as a proxy server to get access to the Playstation Network was working on console firmware version 3.55. It has been confirmed now that the DNS hack does not work any more, as well as another Proxy hack being kicked in the crotch and sent off to go cry in a corner.

Turns out that Sony are on the war path when it comes to this mischief, as they are involving a legal team to discover any console developer involvement in the security breach and drop those miscreants in very hot water.

So if you are the hacking type then might I suggest complaining on one of the many forum posts that are sure to pop up in the next 24.
