Screen Gems gets Devil May Cry film rights

Screen Gems gets Devil May Cry film rights

Ah, the videogame-to-movie trend looks like it’s about to claim another victim – er- franchise as Variety reports that Screen Gems have purchased the rights to bring Devil May Cry to the big screen.

The initial details aren’t much to go on, unfortunately: Kyle Ward is handling the script, and the plot will revolve around Dante avenging “his mother’s murder by killing off demons.”

Whether or not you’re a fan of video game to movie adaptations, you can’t deny the success that Capcom‘s other franchise, Resident Evil, has had at the movie theatres.

  1. I don’t this one but if Sony and Capcom better do the Devil May Cry justice and follow the storyline from the game series so Kyle Ward should play the game and look at the story of the game first before he starts writing down the script.
Devil May Cry will be action packed something like Blade movies.
    Thank You.
