August release confirmed for Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Following a period of uncertainty, Square Enix has confirmed to UK high street retailer GAME that Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be available in Europe from August 26th, according to Eurogamer.

In spite of an official announcement in December that Human Revolution was to be delayed until the fiscal year beginning April 2011, Amazon.co.uk were until very recently displaying a release date of March 8th.

The third entry in Eidos Montreal’s Deus Ex series, Human Revolution is a prequel to the first game, starring mechanically-augmented security officer Adam Jensen.

Deus Ex and its 2003 sequel Invisible War masterfully blend first-person shooter, action-adventure and role-playing game elements to create a compelling virtual experience. The series has collectively sold over two million copies, garnering positive reviews and worldwide critical acclaim.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is due for release in Australia on August 25th and in Europe on the 26th, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. A US date is yet to be confirmed.

UPDATE Eidos Montreal have confirmed via Twitter that Human Revolution will be released in the US on August 23rd.
