Jill sandwiches for everyone! Resident Evil: Director’s Cut heading for EU PSN

18 Mar, 2011

Any fans of Resident Evil lamenting the absence of their favourite zombie-dodging gorefest on the European PlayStation Store can rejoice, as Capcom have announced via their official blog (thanks TheSixthAxis!) that RE: Director’s Cut will finally be released next week.

The original cult horror classic, starring Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine as they investigate mysterious deaths in Raccoon City’s forest region, has been available to download from the Japanese PSN store since 2006, hitting the North American store three years later.

The Director’s Cut contains extra outfits, new camera angles and two new difficulty settings not included in the original release back in 1996. And the best news of all? We’ll be mercifully spared from Mamoru Samuragoch’s appalling excuse for a “new and improved soundtrack” included in the Japan and US-only Dual Shock Edition.

Resident Evil: Director’s Cut will be available to download via PSN from March 23rd, priced at £7.99.

Haha! I do believe Barry Burton may well be responsible for every fudged line of dialogue in gaming history. xD
