A source close to Japanese gaming experts andriasang.com has deduced from this month’s Famitsu magazine that Resident Evil CODE: Veronica and Resident Evil 4 are being reproduced in high-definition for PS3 and Xbox 360.
That would be Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X – the “complete” edition I’ve come to despise over the years – but not to look a gift-horse in the mouth, this is great news for me and will no doubt be creating pools of nervous sweat amongst the dedicated RE fan community.
It is reported that Resident Evil 4 will also arrive in its complete form, packing the superb Separate Ways scenario starring everyone’s favourite “bitch in the red dress” Ada… Ada Wong.
The Famitsu article also apparently contains comparison screenshots so we can see exactly how good these re-releases – currently known as Resident Evil Revival Selection HD Remastered Series – are going to look when they’re finally unleashed.
Unfortunately, there’s currently no indication of a release date. More information as and when we get it and big thanks to our very own roving news-hound Mikey for the tip-off!
UPDATE 24/03: According to CVG, Capcom have today confirmed that Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: CODE Veronica X will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with full achievement and trophy support, in the autumn of this year.

I’m so excited for these (given that they get a European release). I’d love another go at Code Veronica X, and I loved Resident Evil 4 on Wii as well; I thought it was a cracking title and would love to play through it again.
I’m thrilled! Resident Evil 4 on Wii was spectacular; if they’re planning on implementing Move support, which I’d expect they would after patching it into Resi 5, it’ll be an amazing package.
And CODE: Veronica in HD? Say no more.
What I really want to see is a re-release of the classic Silent Hill titles!
CODE: Veronica in HD? There’s definitely hope for SH, Tabi! :)
