If, like me, the thought of spending the Easter weekend basking in the sunshine while talking to three-dimensional people makes you break out into a cold sweat, please – don’t panic. Xbox have a a whole host of activities lined up for those of us strong enough to briefly tear ourselves away from Portal 2 and/or Gears 3 BETA this weekend …
The Xbox Nations Free Xbox LIVE Weekend kicks off tomorrow. As well as a Xbox LIVE free weekend – which enables all free LIVE users to get a taste of the perks of a shiny gold membership – there’s up to 50% off the entire SEGA catalogue, free avatar items, discounts on movies and music, gaming tournaments and – if you own a Kinect and Kinect Sports – the chance to participate in a record-breaking attempt to have the most people simultaneously running 100 metres. Intrigued? Yeah, I was too. It’s due to take place at 6pm (GMT) on Saturday 23 April – check your dashboard for details on how to take part!

hi does it start in the uk in the morning because for me its not working
The Nations promotion starts today, but the free LIVE weekend itself doesn’t kick off until Saturday morning, I believe.
yeah man, me and Adrian were like ”why it not working”? i thought i was loosing my mind, but I’m not so that’s good to hear yo.
A friend of mine got free gold this morning but i can’t seem to, and nowhere tells me how. Any suggestions?
You will be automatically upgraded to gold, so you don’t need to do anything as long as you are signed into LIVE with a free account. :)
I’m logged into LIVE with a free account, but I can’t access any of the Gold content. Any suggestions?
As I said, all gold features will apply automatically, so there’s nothing you need to “do” or “select” in order to access them. That said, if you can’t access everything, contact support.xbox.com or hit them up on Twitter and they’ll do whatever they can to help. :)
