If you’re anything like a large proportion of our team here at GGS Gamer, you have been feverishly beavering away at Valve’s Portal 2 since it’s release last weekend, with no clear view in sight of slowing down anytime soon. It’s pretty fair to say that we love Portal here at GGS, so the news that DLC is already on the way for the ‘title of the now’ is something rather wonderful – and that is before you even mention that it is free!
The announcement of free Portal 2 DLC came only a week after the game’s initial release, which saw it sell hundreds of thousands of copies globally and arrived with a trouser-wetting shockwave of critical acclaim. Here at GGS we awarded the game a solid 10/10 for it’s original, challenging and innovative gameplay. This new pack which for now remains known only as ‘DLC #1′ will feature new test chambers for both Single Player, Co-Op ‘and more’. Challenge and Advanced maps have also been noted to be included in the pack for those amongst us who really have to push their patience to the limits. Rumour has it that Valve have spoken of how the additional content will have it own promotional campaign in the form of comics and trailers – so expect this to be a little bit more than a few map add-ons. This journalist hopes we could be looking at the continued expansion of the characters and story through these installments, and scraps of information on all the questions we are dying to see answered!
The content will be available free of charge to all formats, and is currently being given a simple ‘summer release’ estimation. Check out our review for Portal 2 and keep with us for more news as it comes!
