The wait for L.A. Noire seems extra long with the barrage of extra perks and other fun stuff. Last week, Rockstar Games announced features for members of their Social Club, the online community portal for fans that give everything from stat trackers to forum help.
One of the perks is the Chicago Lightning Suit, an outfit that is unlockable by simply registering for the online community. The suit itself boosts Cole Phelps’ accuracy in-game when using the shotgun or machine gun. It might just come in handy for those massive firefights, or if you just want to look sharp while cruising around Los Angeles.
Another perk to signing up is the “Ask the Community” feature, which gives you the opportunity to use the Social Club as a lifeline if you become stuck during the course of the game. Can’t quite figure out how to proceed? Forget GameFAQs and ask your peers, except they might throw you a red herring once in a while. Ain’t nothing like a little spice in your life.
Back by demand as well is the extremely-helpful “100% Checklist” that debuted with Red Dead Redemption. Just like it helped John Marston become the legend of the west, this time the list will help Cole Phelps become the best detective in L.A. Can’t remember what you’re missing to reach that coveted landmark? Switch on your trusty computer and take a peek – you’ll be 100% bound in no time.
Other features being offered to Social Club members are a case tracker, advanced gameplay stats, and of course the all-important achievement tracker.
L.A. Noire is set to start patrolling the streets on May 17th in North America and May 20th in Europe and Australia.
