The stealth action genre speaks to a curious impulse in us all – the somewhat worrying secret desire to be a silent and deadly international man or woman of mystery, who checks into a hotel with an overnight bag and within an hour has fried a guest in the tub with a toaster, laced the soup of the day with strychnine and caused thousands of pounds of damaged to antique chandeliers. If that kind of thing was your bag, Agent 47 was your man, and he is set to make his triumphant return to our consoles in his first outing (not counting the dreadful film) since Hitman: Blood Money, with the next gen ‘Hitman Absolution’.
IO Interactive have released a teaser trailer which stays true to the name in every sense of the phrase. The trailer is giving nothing away, only 30 seconds of a gloved hand affixing a Silencer to 47′s signature Baller pistol(s), a rather menacing looking serpent coiled around another of the famous side arms and Agent 47′s trademark barcode tattoo. IO Interactive last year spoke of how the game was already well into developement, but that players should not expect to see it on shelves until Christmas 2011 at the earliest. Here’s hoping Jesper Kyd will be back on board with his delicious muscial scores – consider us here at GGS officially excited!
