Do you remember Demon’s Souls, one of the toughest games released in 2009 for the PlayStation 3? If you were lucky enough to test your mettle within the enshrouded landscapes of Boletaria, then you’ll probably have figured out it was not a walk within a grassy park.
From Software, the developer behind Demon’s Souls, is getting ready to test our resolve yet again with Dark Souls. In an all new trailer released today, we catch a fleeting glimpse of the monstrous demons, gruesome deaths, and haunting landscapes in Souls.
But what exactly is Dark Souls? From Software describes it as “a brand new action RPG set in a rich, dark fantasy universe” that features extensive dungeon crawling, adaptable gameplay, and wishes to coax even the meekest of the meek to explore all the nooks and crannies of the world. However, we can all expect it to be every little bit as hard (perhaps even harder?) than Demon’s Souls, which infamously featured frequent deaths that could make even the most patient gamer want to crack their controllers in half.

Dark Souls will be available for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 sometime this coming October, and will be published by Namco Bandai.
